Phuket lies off the west coast of Thailand and is a popular holiday destination for families with kids of all ages. The weather is warm and sunny nearly all year-round, the beaches are sandy and there are heaps of activities, including Phuket boat tours, for children. You’ll also find that Thai people absolutely adore them, so it’s not surprising that the island is known as a great place to bring youngsters.

Family-friendly Hotels

Most resorts in Phuket are family-friendly and it’s easy enough to find hotels that have designed their accommodations and services to meet the needs of families. The larger resorts generally have kids’ clubs, babysitting services and scheduled activities to keep the children entertained whilst mum and dad relax.

Kata Beach is in a sheltered bay and one of the prettiest beaches in Phuket. The sea is shallow and calm most of the year and it’s one of the most popular for families. Palm trees provide some shelter and there’s plenty of stalls and restaurants around for refreshments.  Kata is a favourite with families as it’s busy but not too wild, and most of the accommodation options are within walking distance of the beach.
Activities for Kids

There are a lot of activities for kids in Phuket so there shouldn’t be any reason for them to get bored. Splash Jungle Water Park is at Mai Khao Beach near to the airport, quite far out but you can spend the whole day there having some wet fun.

The Wakeboard Park at Anthem is heaps of fun for older kids and adults. The fresh water lake is surrounded by trees and mountains and has a 12m high cable track measuring 650-meter long. It’s suitable for beginners and professional riders.

If the weather isn’t so good then there’s lots of indoor activities too. In Phuket Town, the quirky Upside Down House has a garden maze, and the interactive Trickeye Museum have exhibitions that encourage kids to use their imagination and be creative. Over in Cape Panwa is the aquarium where you can see the marine creatures up close, or go bowling or the movies at JungCeylon and Central if it’s a rainy day.
